About

Libera Awards

The annual Libera Awards honors independent musicians and the teams that support them. The Libera Awards was created to recognize the powerful voice of the independent sector, often unacknowledged in mainstream media. Now in its 16th year, the Libera Award is the premier celebration of independent music in the United States. This year the Libera Awards will be presented live on Monday, June 7, 2027 in New York City’s renowned Gotham Hall.

“The Libera Awards are the premier celebration of independent cultural and commercial success. From Mavis Staples to Geese, Kamasi Washington to Bad Bunny, the Liberas celebrate independent excellence across generation and genre. It is the one night the whole independent community is in the same room, and every nominee got here on their own terms. We can’t wait to see everyone there,” says Ian Harrison, CEO of A2IM.
